Richard Librea, CAT(C)

Certified Athletic Therapist

Richard graduated from the University of Manitoba - Athletic Therapy Program in 2018. He spent two years as the student Athletic Therapist for the Men's Bison Basketball team and aided them through many lower body injuries, chronic aches/pains and injury prevention. His clinical experience comes from working in a clinic that specializes in back & neck injuries after motor-vehicle accidents He utilized many therapeutic rehabilitation exercises and techniques for people to become pain-free.

  • Swedish Massage, K-taping and Cupping

Gabrielle Nurkkala, CAT(C)

Certified Athletic Therapist

Gabrielle graduated from the University of Winnipeg in 2018 with a B.Sc. majoring in Kinesiology with a specialization in Athletic Therapy. She then went on to successfully pass the Canadian Athletic Therapy national exams following graduation to become a Certified Athletic Therapist CAT(C), and is currently a member of the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association. In 2019, she was certified in Acupuncture. Gabrielle was born and raised in the community of Steinbach. Growing up she had a love of sports and activity, playing on many school, community and regional teams; this is what motivated her to pursue a career in athletic therapy. She has worked with many sports teams in the southeast area including AAA Eastman Selects female and male hockey, Southeast Thistles rugby, SRSS Sabres football, and the University of Winnipeg baseball team to provide injury assessment, management, and prevention, as well as act as a certified first responder.

Since June of 2019, Gabrielle has been working as an Athletic Therapist and Acupuncture Practitioner at Spine Steinbach and is currently accepting new patients. Her scope of practice in the clinic includes work place injuries, motor vehicle accident injuries, pre/post-surgery rehab, sports injuries, neurological injuries, posture imbalances, joint mobilization, concussion management, and more. She is certified in acupuncture, neuro-proprioceptive taping, myofascial cupping, and exercise prescription. Other soft tissue treatment includes massage, trigger point release, scar tissue mobilization, ultrasound therapy, and fascial release. Her goal is to help patients of all ages and activity levels return to their usual activities pain free, and go beyond that to the next level of health and fitness.
